Search for birthday e cards

March 23rd, 2007 by david

Just a few days ago I went on a search for birthday e cards.  I have a friend who had a birthday just yesterday, and he lives on the other side of the world. It is very risky for me to mail him a birthday card because he only gets what I send about half of the time. I’m not sure if this is the fault of the postal service in the U. S., or perhaps the fault of the Australian system, but half of the things I sent to any other friends over there end up lost. I decided that this year instead of mailing him a paper card I would go out and find birthday e cards to send via e-mail instead.

There are certain things that my friend likes more than others. We always like to get birthday e cards in a theme that our friends will appreciate. This friend is very into a particular singer, so I went to look for Elvis birthday e cards. What I found what it looked for this particular type of card was that I would have to spend some money to join a web site. I could not find any decent birthday e cards with his favorite singer anywhere online, so I decide to go with something else. I don’t use the e cards enough to warrant paying for subscription fee.

If you use birthday e cards more often than I do, you may want to get a subscription at one of the better sites. This saddens me a little however, as I remember when most of the birthday e cards you can find online were free. They are a little more complicated than they used to be, and perhaps that is why they have to ask you for money when you want to use one. I suspect that they pay good money for artists and writers to put together the birthday e cards, and they have to get their money back somehow. There are many free e cards online, but they will not be as good as the ones you can find on a pay site.

In the end, I did find birthday e cards on a free site. I chose a singing cow, and I hope that he appreciates the gesture. There is something that has gone on in his life recently that makes the words to this song that was included with this birthday e card very special. I will wait to see if I hear from him to see if the birthday e cards I chose were a success or not. Perhaps I should just go back to mailing the paper cards, because at least then I know what I am buying, and I know that he will be able to save it for a very long time.
